Economic Development Strategy

RKG Associates, Inc was retained by the City of Lynn to help them prepare an economic development strategy in an effort to turn around a declining local economy. RKG Associates structured an overall economic development framework on which the City could focus, targeting the areas of business retention and expansion, attraction of new investment, and redevelopment of the under-valued properties to higher value uses. Within this context, RKG Associates defined and quantified specific goals regarding new jobs, new housing units and new real estate tax revenue, for both the short- and long-term. RKG Associates also recommended zoning changes, future targeted public sector investments and suggested organizational changes within local government to improve coordination among municipal departments.
